Discover Our StoryYala Leopard Safari Tours was founded in 1990 with the goal of sharing Sri Lanka's wildlife and natural landscapes with travelers in a responsible, comfortable and memorable way. Over the years, the team has hosted local and international guests through some of the country's best-known national parks.
What began with a single jeep and a deep love for Yala's dry-zone wilderness has grown into a small, dedicated team covering Yala, Udawalawe and Bundala National Parks. Our approach has stayed the same throughout: small groups, patient drivers, and an unhurried pace that lets the wildlife set the schedule, not the clock. Three and a half decades later, we're still run by the same family, still driven by the same respect for the parks that started it all.

At Yala Leopard Safari Tours, every safari is driven by one simple principle: the animals come first. Sightings in the wild are never guaranteed, we track leopards, elephants and birdlife with patience and respect, not by chasing a promise, and we follow park rules and rangers' guidance on every drive.
We keep a responsible distance from wildlife at all times, prioritising safe driving and your comfort over getting closer than the animals are comfortable with.
